Fruits of harvest

GIY meeting today (Saturday)

In case you didn't receive a reminder or aren't on the GIY reminder list, the next GIY meeting is today (Saurday the 15th) from 1-2 PM at the OOOOBY Store in Glenealy.  All are welcome, at any level of gardening experience.

Harvest Celebration

Our annual Harvest Celebration takes place Saturday 29th Oct 2011 from 1-4pm at the OOOOBY Store.  This is a free, family-friendly event.

We'll be operating the apple press so please bring apples and we'll press them on the day.

Food & craft vendors are welcome, please contact us in advance to reserve your space (cost for a stall is €5).

Wild & Slow - 19-20 November 2011

Please note the change of date for this celebration of wild and foraged foods.  If you'd like to sell wild/foraged products, the OOOOBY Stall still has room for more vendors (no cost for sharing the stall).  Please get in touch for more information, this is looking to be a great event.

Apple pickers wanted

We have permission to pick apples from trees near the Beehive pub.  If you are interested and available in the next week, please contact us!  The apples will be pressed at the Harvest Celebration.

Good worker available!

Our long-term volunteer at Carraig Dúlra farm is looking for occasional paid work while she is here.  Her name is Linda, from the Czech Republic.  She's fluent in English and available for gardening, cleaning house, farming or other jobs. She has experience in natural gardening and permaculture, working with smaller animals, baby- and dog-sitting and much more.  You can get in touch with her directly on (087) 368 4975.

OOOOBY Store Update

We now have jars & lids for jam-making, flip top glass bottles for cider / beer making and bulk quantities of baking soda, lemon juice and vinegar, for eco-cleaning.  The store is open Thursdays and Saturdays 10-2, or other times by arrangement.

Vote for our OOOOBY Video!

The short video about OOOOBY is now in a competition!  The winning organisations get some funding, so please support us by voting for OOOOBY -- you can vote once a day

Hope to see you at the OOOOBY Harvest celebration,

Mike & Suzie Cahn
